"Connections"
The name given to our body of work. Work in progress that is.
On your left is how Joyce and Terese started their collaborative
piece, "Links". We talked about producing an "atmospheric series" but that didn't last very long. We loved the movement and color but quickly
realized that it looked like a map. We were trying too hard. For a week
or more we tried to make something that didn't relate to us. We had to
get rid of the map and focus on composition. After several discussions
and glasses of wine we came up with what you see below.-Terese
This started moving along after laying down the links. It felt right and it started to sing to me. No, I didn't have too much wine. That's how I feel when a piece is coming together. It's like a song and the shapes dance and the rythem is right. - Terese
And this is the completed piece. Our first collaborative work. of (Gabiou/Muller)

Yes, it was a bit of a struggle at first. While our styles are somewhat similar,(non-objective) our approach to painting differs.
ReplyDeleteTerese underestimates her intuitiveness and creativity, but not anymore. The last session went by very quickly as we picked up a rythem, working in unisome.
Hurry back from vacation Terese, so we can complete our 4th effort. I promise not to cheat by adding a little here and there!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteSquare bubbles -- love it! You may not have meant it, but those things not only sing, they float!
